Our Twin Flame Story
“When Twin Flame souls connect, time and distance disappear!”
In the early spring of 2001, our twin flame story began, when Tom’s car broke down. He needed to work, so he rode his son’s bike to his shop. The first morning, he got up early, dressed warmly, and headed to Hamburg. Surprisingly, it was much more uphill and further than he thought. Halfway there, he pulled off to the side of the road to catch his breath and sip some well-needed water. He stared off to the other side of the road, and there it was: Willow Creek Holistic Healing Center. Wow, this seemed rather fortuitous. He knew he needed some in-depth healing because all the issues he worked on in his failed first marriage were still very prominent in his life. He made a note to check it out on his day off. He intended to heal and grow.
The receptionist, who was also the center’s owner, welcomed Tom and gave him a catalog of courses. Out of all the classes offered, there was one called Chakra Reprogramming, and Tom knew better than anyone that his chakras certainly needed reprogramming and, hopefully, rejuvenation. He showed up for registration and was told he was the only one signed up and that they would call him when there were others. Tom was sure this was the class for him. He returned several times, and finally, the owner told him to come that night, and the class would be held.
“When someone is meant to be in your life, they will always find their way back home to you, as you are both singing the same song.”
Little did the owner know that the teacher, Linda Sylvester, was on a day hike deep in the Allegany forest. Luckily, her phone had reception, and she was told that a new policy had just been made: the class would be held even if there was only one student. Linda honored her commitment and miraculously found her way, alone, back to her trusty van, returning to the center in time to freshen up for the class.
Spirit works in mysterious ways, and when Linda sat down to scan the people who signed up, 12 students were waiting for the class. Tom approached her and said he felt he would meet a woman here who would be his teacher. She paused momentarily and knew that she and Tom would be more than teacher and student. She knew that Tom was her twin flame.
Tom thought this was the first time he had met Linda. He was in a theater near the university to see a movie, and Linda sensed his presence in the back of the room. Another time, near this same theater, there was a New Age bookstore, where Linda heard a voice asking for help finding a copy of “The Autobiography of a Yogi”.
“Things began happening with odd synchronicity as if the universe itself was conspiring on behalf of their love story.”
Tom felt it was their first meeting, and Linda recognized Tom’s voice and energy from the bookstore. The class started quickly, and within fifteen minutes, Tom was releasing massive tears of cleansing and not-a-bit self-conscious. Linda knew what she was doing. In the meantime, Tom was trying to figure out who this person was teaching this class with such a skill for looking into his soul.
The class was a success, and the students worked diligently for weeks, following Linda’s instructions. She decided to invite everyone on a field trip to Niagara Falls. No one had signed up, and Linda knew this was an opportunity to see if Tom was telepathic. She sent a mental message to Tom to call her about the field trip, and he did. They agreed to meet at a supermarket parking lot. Tom showed up, but there was no sign of Linda, so he went into the store to use the restroom, and on his way out, she was waiting for him. Tom thought, how did she know where he was? Oh, well, here we go.
“Love is but the discovery of ourselves in another, and the delight in the recognition.”
Linda drove to the Falls and found a good parking spot near where she said they could experience some energy vortices. Tom did not know what this was about but soon became aware of the spinning energy near the falls. Linda showed him where to stand and move away, and Tom was amazed. Linda took him to other spots, and he felt the same, phenomenon. Once again, he asked himself, who is this woman who looks like and old housewife and know all this stuff?
Hours floated by, and it was time to return to the van. They walked back, and as it was turning to dusk, a beautiful large star lit up on top of the tallest building. Tom was stunned when they naturally held hands on the way back.
“The way our fingers intertwined feels so natural and right; as if our hands hold memories of meeting in a thousand other lifetimes.”
There were several classes, and most of the students attended regularly. Spring vacation came around, and one of Linda’s clients, a friend, asked her to go to Florida to clear the negative energy from a wealthy estate that would hold a retreat in a few days for spiritually minded women. All the expenses were covered. While there, her friend and her daughter wanted to treat her to a "makeover" of hair, clothes, and the works, and when she returned to WNY, Tom was shocked. What happened to the old Linda? Tom was getting used to being with her. Linda continued to morph into a younger version of herself, and Tom and she began to date.
“You and I, we are embers from the same fire, dust from the same star, echoes of the same love.”
Linda knew she and Tom were twin flames, yet Tom did not know. He was familiar with the term “soul mates” but wasn’t too clear about it. Little by little, he began to understand that soul mates generally say things like: when they are with their mate, they feel complete. That is fine and a lovely feeling until one of the mates begins to grow and change. Soul mates begin to depend on the other person to complete them, and the dependency becomes an unhealthy codependency. The twin flame is not like that.
It is a mirrored relationship between two complete individuals who choose to travel this journey together. Being complete does not mean fully evolved. It means you bring yourself to the relationship and are ready to grow and learn. Linda had what seemed like a lifetime of holistic, spiritual, magical knowledge to call upon, while Tom based his identity on many extraordinary experiences. Together, they grew to realize the twin flame as a reality. Until now, one of the twins has remained spiritual while the other has lived physically.
“Your twin flame is your mirror. When you heal, they also heal. So always keep working on yourself to progress towards union.”
Sometimes, that communication felt like intuition, but now, it was real and immediate with Tom and Linda. They were both in the same dimension, walking their journey together. To be clear, they were not the only example. There are many twin flames around the globe manifesting similarly. Whereas soulmates can have a very romantic connotation, the twin flame goes a considerable step further.
The twin flame comes together for a higher purpose. The intimacy is based on a spiritual connection made ions ago when the flame burned as one and agreed to split and experience separate realities with the commitment to meet again and as one. This oneness is exactly what humanity requires to expand consciousness to another level. Remember, Linda and Tom are two of many flames embracing this purpose. Together, they have many stories to share and hope to share insights and illuminations along the way.
